Family Income Supplement

The Department of Social Security has advised that theological students may be eligible for the Family Income Supplement. Further details are available from local Social Security offices as are claim forms.

AUSTUDY Benefits

The Bachelor of Theology and Bachelor of Divinity degrees are both approved courses for AUSTUDY benefits.

In the past, study (at bachelor's level) has been disregarded when determining eligibility for AUSTUDY if `....you completed a course which was a normal requirement for admission to your current course'.

The `normal requirement' for entry to Moore College is: `Graduate from an Australian University or the equivalent'. A statement to this effect is available from the Registrar.

Students taking at least 75% of the full-time load of an approved course are eligible for AUSTUDY benefits. This applies to Diploma of Bible & Missions, Diploma of Bible and Ministry (full-time) and Diploma of Bible & Youth Ministry students as they are enrolled in more than 75% of the B.D. load.

Austudy application forms are available only from the nearest branch of Centrelink.
