Requirements for Graduation
Bachelor of Divinity
Graduation at Pass Level
The Board of Studies recommends to the Governing Board of the College that the degree be awarded at Pass level when the following requirements of the course have been satisfied:
- The requirements for each unit (including attendance at lectures and tutorials, submission of all required assessments and completion of non-assessed tasks) in which a student is enrolled have been fulfilled;
- All compulsory units in Years 1, 2 and 3 have been passed with a mark of at least 50%;
- Four core units in Year 4 have been passed with a mark of at least 50%; and
- Four elective units (three if CT499 Project is taken as an elective) in year 4 have been passed with a mark of at least 50%;
Graduation with Honours
The degree may be taken with honours in the interests of academic excellence, as a step to postgraduate study and as a pre-requisite to courses aimed at preparing graduates for a (theological college) teaching ministry.
The Board of Studies recommends to the Governing Board of the College that the degree be awarded with Honours when the foregoing requirements have been satisfied, and:
- The elective units of Hebrew 1 and the Year 4 Project have been passed with marks of at least 50% in each case;
- The following overall averages in completed units are achieved over the four years:
Honours Class 1: Not less than 80%
Honours Class 2A: Not less than 72.5%
Honours Class 2B: Not less than 65%
- The Board of studies retains the right to vary the foregoing figures at its discretion.
Bachelor of Theology
Graduation at Pass Level
The Board of Studies recommends to the Governing Board of the College that the degree be awarded at Pass level when the following requirements of the course have been satisfied:
- The requirements for each unit (including attendance at lectures and tutorials, submission of all required assessments and completion of non-assessed tasks) in which a student is enrolled have been fulfilled;
- All compulsory units in Years 1, 2 and 3 have been passed with a mark of at least 50%;
Graduation with Merit or Distinction
The Board of Studies recommends to the Governing Board of the College that the degree be awarded 'with merit' or 'with distinction' when the foregoing requirements have been satisfied, and:
- The elective unit of Hebrew 1A (or 1B) has been passed with a mark of at least 50%;
- The following overall averages in completed units are achieved over the three years:
Distinction: Not less than 80%
Merit: Not less than 65%
- The Board of Studies retains the right to vary the foregoing figures at its discretion.
