Applying to Study at Moore

  1. The normal academic pre-requisite for the BD (or BTh) course is a degree from an Australian university or the equivalent. Inquiries are welcomed from Australian residents without a university degree as mature age students may qualify through an entrance examination.

  2. For the academic requirements for admission to the MA (Theology), MTh and PhD programs see the separate admission requirements for each under Postgraduate Study Program.

  3. The first step in applying for admission to the College is a preliminary interview with the Principal. This may be arranged by contacting the Applications Administrator (Tel. 61 (0)2 9577 9928).

  4. For applicants outside New South Wales preliminary interviews may be arranged with a representative of the Principal in the country or state concerned.

  5. For International applicants, before a preliminary interview is arranged the following must be provided:

    • a certified copy of the academic transcripts for all tertiary qualifications;

    • for those who do not have a university degree, taken in English medium, a certified copy of an IELTS score of at least 6.5 in all categories (for postgraduate courses at least 7.0 in all categories); and

    • two references, including one from current pastor or denominational leader.

  6. Application forms are provided depending on the outcome of the preliminary interview. For international applicants completed application forms must be received no later than 1st October in the year prior to commencement of study. For domestic applicants, the final date for receiving completed applications is 1 December in the year prior to commencement of study.

  7. Once application forms and associated documents are received, interviews are arranged with the College's Selection Panel in the case of applicants from NSW, Vic., S.A. and Qld. In other cases applications are considered 'in absentia' by the Selection Panel.

  8. The recommendations of the Selection Panel are considered by the College Council.

  9. If a place is offered, a written offer is made and acceptance of this offer may only be confirmed by signing and returning the form provided in the letter of offer.
